Jeff Hawkins

Dr. Hawkins came to the Ames Community School District after previously serving as principal at Ankeny High School, a position he held since 2011. He has experience with building staff commitment to achieve a district’s mission and vision, curriculum implementation, leveraging professional learning communities to improve instruction and assessment practices, and building the capacity in staff to improve student learning. With over 20 years of experience as an educational leader, Dr. Hawkins is a dynamic communicator who has a passion for education that sets him apart from his peers. He received his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Drake University in 2010.
