Chris Stensland

Stensland serves as Chief Financial Officer and board secretary for the Ames Community School District and is responsible for food service and accounting functions. She manages investments, debt issuance, payroll, employee benefits, and is a member of the negotiations team. 

Prior to that, she served as the Director of Business Services in the Burlington School District for 12 years. Stensland also has experience with the Des Moines Public Schools, the Polk-Des Moines Taxpayers Association and the State of Iowa as the Director for County Budgets in the Department of Management. Ms. Stensland is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed School Business Official (SBO). She has taught Long-Term Debt at the Iowa School Business Management Academy for 20 years and is a frequent presenter at the Iowa of Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) annual conferences. IASBO recognized Stensland in 2019 with the Professional Leadership Award.
