As the new superintendent of the Ames Community School District, it is my honor to welcome you back for the 2024-2025 school year. I am thrilled to join this amazing community and look forward to working together to create an enriching and supportive educational environment for all our students.
Our dedicated team of educators and staff have been working diligently to prepare for an exceptional year of learning and growth. We are committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in our schools. This year, we will continue to focus on providing high-quality education while also nurturing the social and emotional well-being of our students.
I encourage you to stay engaged and involved in your child’s education by attending school events, joining a Parent-Teacher Organization, and maintain open communication with our teachers and staff through your ParentSquare account. Your partnership is invaluable in helping us achieve our goals and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

​Reminder​
School begins Friday, August 23 for:
- Grades EK-5, regular dismissal times
- Orientation at AMS for all 6th grade students and new to the district 7th and 8th grade students, dismiss at 1:45 pm.
- Orientation at AHS for all 9th grade students, dismiss at 1:35 pm.
- Buses run on August 23 for those who requested transportation.
