Ames High to Move to 100% Online Remote Learning Starting Monday, November 16
Today, we will submit our application for approval to the Iowa Department of Education (DE) to move Ames High School to 100% online remote learning starting Monday, November 16.
The school board will act on the delivery model change for Ames High School on Friday, November 13, at 12:00 p.m. You can find the agenda here and access the meeting via Zoom or on the District’s YouTube Channel.
With this action, all of our schools will be in 100% online remote learning through the week of Thanksgiving. This morning, the Iowa Department of Education (DE) officially approved our application to temporarily move to 100% online remote learning for grades PK-8. We have posted the letter to our website.
When a school building has been granted approval from the DE to move into remote learning, the ability for that school to participate in extracurricular activities is suspended for the duration of the period of remote learning. As a result, all practices, competitions, and in-person meetings of any sports, activity, or club will be suspended through the period of remote learning. This will be effective Monday, November 16 for Ames High School.
Teachers, parents, and students of Ames High School, please be on the lookout for further communication from the building.
