Eric Smidt

As Director of Communications for the Ames Community School District, Smidt has been able to take a creative approach to tell engaging stories through a variety of mediums. He is responsible for the District’s quarterly Amazing Magazine, social media content, and leans heavily on his skills in video, photography, design, and writing. Eric has three documentary film credits and has won numerous communication awards throughout his career. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has a Masters of Education degree from Iowa State University.
