Ascension Lutheran Church Soccer Camp

Kids ages 5-15 are invited to a soccer camp at Lloyd Kurtz Park led by longtime soccer coach and pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church – Roger Twito. The camp will run Monday-Friday, August 8-12, from 9-11 each morning. “Coach T” has been coaching soccer for 26 years. Other camp instructors include Kira Werstein (a UNI 3-year starter and Ames Soccer Club Coach), Mike Sulc (a 3-year starter for the University of Tennessee), Kirk Artist (Technical Director of Rush Soccer Club in Ankeny, IA and former Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Wartburg College), and Jeremy Bolles, a soccer enthusiast dating back to his childhood. Learn moves, proper shooting and passing technique, dribbling, juggling, turns, and a little strategy as well. No prior soccer experience is necessary, so come and be prepared to learn and have fun. Indoor bathrooms will be available at the church nearby. Please be sure to bring 3 things: a soccer ball, shin guards, and a water bottle filled with water. We will be providing some ice cold snacks and listen to a sports-related Christian devotional at the end of each session. A donation of $25 per child with a max of $40 per family that will be donated to Unity Lutheran School in E. St. Louis and Trinity 1st Lutheran School in Minneapolis is recommended, but not required. Registration is limited to the first 100 who register.
